Abducted by Aliens

It's finally happened. My sweet, happy, easy-going, fun-loving girl . . .

. . . has been abducted by aliens and replaced with a wailing, obstinate, uncooperative maniac.

The terrible two's is a myth. It's THREE that kills you. And it's happened with every one of my kids - right around their third birthday, they turn into whining, demanding, tantrumy messes. It's most notable with the ones who were otherwise calm, cool, and collected - namely Kevin, and now Lilah.

Ugh.

I went through the same thing with Sawyer. The kid never even had a tantrum until he was almost 3. Now that he has turned four he is much better, but it was a year from hell and I didn't like the mommy I had become. I spanked, yelled, cussed...and was embarrassed often. I am reflecting back and now how I am still so hard on him lately, and thinking I really need to give him a break. He isn't nearly as bad as he was, but there is that fear if I let up on him all hell will break loose. Now Baylor, he either throws tantrums because he witnesses them from Sawyer and I or I am in for a long haul with him. Maybe he will just be terrible 1-2's???? I doubt it!

Amen! I feel your pain and remember those days all to well. My daughter was always so happy everyday and never pitched fit and stopped doing what I asked of her until that magical number of 3.. Mybe if it's the terrible twos then it should be the tantrumy (that not even a word) threes

Three is the worst age ever! I always make it through two and think how lucky I am to have made it only to be blind sided by three.

Yep, Eli too. He was the EASIEST baby and toddler, and even 2-year-old. Three stunk, and four isn't shaping up to be that great either.

Sorry, Lisa. I know Lilah was your easy one! Hopefully she'll get over it quickly.
